- Donate Used Books to Help Local Children
Studies have shown that children who can’t read proficiently by third grade are four times more likely to drop out of high school. Help us rewrite the story for underserved children in our area by donating to the Books for a Brighter Future Book Drive benefiting Promising Pages, March 1-14.
Books of all age ranges and conditions are welcome and can be dropped off in Ballantyne Building lobbies through 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 14. Before buying new books to donate, consider making a monetary donation instead. Every dollar donated delivers one book into the hands of a child in need.
You can also support the cause by volunteering with Togetherhood to help sort, clean, stamp and pack physical book donations from the drive on Thursday, March 14, 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., at Sara’s YMCA. Chick-fil-A Stonecrest at Piper Glen will provide free food for volunteers while supplies last.
