The holiday season is almost here, and we’re excited to share some ways to celebrate in Ballantyne. View a lineup of festive events happening in our area this season.
Enjoy a holiday-themed specialty tea at The Ballantyne, Thursday-Sunday, 1-4 p.m., during December. Enhanced experiences include selections from Rare Tea Company, warm savories and sweets. The cost is $58 for adults, $25 for children ages 5-12 and $15 for children 4 and under (excluding tax and gratuity). Reservations are required at (704) 248-4100.
Grab some hot chocolate, and take a stroll through The Ballantyne’s Gingerbread Lane, December 4-26. Cast your vote and donation for your favorite creation. Donations benefit Levine Children’s Hospital.
Join Ballantyne Arts Center for its Holiday Festival on December 7, 10 a.m.-noon, and enjoy a morning of holiday activities, including cookie painting, holiday art, a bounce house, face painting, music, gingerbread play dough and a glow party in the theatre. The festival is free and open to the public.
Experience an afternoon of fun at Ballantyne Village’s Holiday Spectacular on December 7, noon-3 p.m. Enjoy festive activities, including photos with Santa, cookie decorating, reindeer ornament crafts, train rides, a bounce house and face painting.
Master the art of the gingerbread building at The Ballantyne’s Gingerbread House Decorating class. The Ballantyne will provide a blank canvas gingerbread house, construction materials (icing and candy) and teach you how to assemble and decorate your gingerbread masterpiece. *Classes are available on December 7, 8, 14 and 15 and are $60 per gingerbread house with a limit of four people per house. All ages are welcome. Reservations are required at (704) 248-4100.
Get in the spirit by learning how to decorate your very own holiday cookies at a SkillPop class on December 11, noon-1 p.m., at Northwood Office. In this class, small business owner Robin Payne will teach you to make perfect royal icing and cover key pointers for flawless design. Practice your skills during the class and create a handful of designs to take home, show off and share. Cost is $40.
Get festive for a cause at the Arthritis Foundations’ annual Jingle Bell Run on December 14. Make a team and wear a holiday costume while you run or walk for a cure.
Grab your last-minute gifts at Ballantyne Village’s Second Annual Gift Market on December 14, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Shop from more than 30 local vendors while enjoying live music.

Celebrate Christmas at one of The Ballantyne’s special holiday dining experiences. Enjoy a selection of holiday cuisine at the Christmas Ballroom Brunch, 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. or enjoy a festive brunch or dinner at Gallery Restaurant. Christmas Ballroom Brunch is $85 for adults and $40 for ages 12 and under plus tax and service charges. Ages 4 and under are complimentary.
