LimeBike Launches in Ballantyne

Ballantyne can now enjoy fast, affordable transportation with LimeBike, a dockless bikesharing program that supports our community’s commitment to wellness and sustainability. As LimeBike is the first and only bikeshare program in Ballantyne, the user guide below provides helpful information to ensure you have the best experience.

What is LimeBike?
LimeBike is the leading dockless US-based bikeshare company that partners with cities, colleges and local businesses to provide its stationless, subsidy-free bike share services at little cost. LimeBike aims to provide a sustainable solution to the first and last mile transportation problem by helping people move around their community quickly while eliminating their carbon footprint.

How Does LimeBike Work?
The bikes are GPS and 3G-enabled, making it simple for riders to find, unlock and pick up a nearby bike using the iOS or Android smartphone app. When the ride is finished, riders simply lock the bike’s back wheel and park responsibly in a designated parking area.

Where Can I Park?
To make LimeBike the best experience for everyone, please park your bike at the nearest bike rack. All Ballantyne Corporate Park buildings have bike racks. If your destination does not have a bike rack (i.e., parks), please abide by the following guidelines:

– Do not park in the grass.
– Do not block pedestrian walkways or building entrances.
– Do not park in vehicle parking spaces or drive lanes.
– Do not park in decks.

How Much Does It Cost?
LimeBike’s rides in Ballantyne cost only $1 per 30-minute time block. For a limited time, enjoy $1 off your first 10 rides using promo code “LIMEBCP.” Promotion ends March 5.

Why Use LimeBike?
It’s affordable, convenient transportation. It promotes wellness and sustainability by providing another way to explore our community. With LimeBike, you can visit a local shop, restaurant or fitness center on your lunch break without ever having to get in your car.

Safety First
Before using LimeBike, brush up on bike safety by reviewing hand signals and bike laws for North Carolina and Charlotte. Please note, by registering for the app, users agree to LimeBike’s user agreement and privacy policy.
