- Northwood Office Recycling Update
With recent changes in the trash/recycling industry across the nation, it’s become essential that recycling loads be free of contamination. In Northwood’s continued efforts to recycle, the single-stream recycling process (wet waste and recycling together) has changed. Therefore, Northwood Office’s Ballantyne tenants are now required to separate trash from recyclables.
We encourage you to join us in separated recycling per the following guidelines:
• Acceptable materials include cardboard, mixed office paper, aluminum, plastic and metal. View a list of examples of recyclable and non-recyclable items.
• All recyclable containers must be empty and free of debris. If any single material becomes contaminated by an unclean container, the entire batch becomes non-recyclable (e.g., a drink container with liquid still in it or a pizza box with food in it will make the entire load unrecyclable).
Janitorial staff will collect recycling from a centralized location, like a breakroom or copy/mailroom. Janitorial staff will not remove recycling from individual workstations. All janitorial vendors/staff are aware of the change.
