Ballantyne Hosts Charlotte International Arts Festival
In conjunction with the Charlotte International Arts Festival, Blumenthal Performing Arts will bring larger-than-life installations to Ballantyne’s Backyard.

The city-wide art festival will feature local and international artwork. Northwood Office and Blumenthal are enhancing the Ballantyne experience with local food and drink vendors, live music, yoga classes and more.

Amanda Parer’s Man

Man, the monumental inflatable statue, will be positioned overlooking a pond at the southern entrance of Ballantyne’s Backyard. The giant seated figure is free to observe, daily. Enjoy a musical soundscape by Charlotte-based composer and sound designer, Jason Hausman. Exhibit schedule.

Architects of Air’s Luminarium

The immersive inflatable structure is inspired by natural forms, geometric solids and Islamic and Gothic architecture. Immerse yourself within the monumental Luminarium between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., September 16 – October 2. Tickets are $5 per person

Close-Act Street Theatre’s Birdmen

Mysterious men will transform into illuminated animals in Ballantyne’s Backyard. Performers of Birdmen will rove the park twice each evening, September 16 – 18, 21 – 25 and 28. Performance schedule.

eVenti Verticali’s Wanted

Performed on vertical and aerial stages, Wanted is a free exhibit taking place twice each evening, September 16 – 18, and 22 – 25. Performance schedule.

Urban Street Artists’ Mentalgassi

The trio of German artists, known under the name Mentalgassi, transforms ordinary objects into large-scale artworks that make any passersby smile. View the sculptures from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily. Exhibit schedule.
