Project Updates

Greenway Connector Nears Completion
Later this fall, visitors will be able to access the Ballantyne® campus from the Lower McAlpine Creek, McMullen Creek and Four Mile Creek Greenways
Ballantyne Greenway 011 1

The Northwood Office and Mecklenburg County joint project will link the Lower McAlpine Greenway to Ballantyne Corporate Place. This connection will enhance accessibility to The Bowl at Ballantyne™, The Amp Ballantyne™, Stream Park and more than 20 miles of walking paths and bike lanes.

Recent project milestones include:
• Northwood installed a 12-foot multiuse paths throughout the Ballantyne campus, including The Amp and The Bowl, that will tie into the existing greenway
• Northwood widened the Ballantyne Corporate sidewalk behind Crawford Building into a 12-foot-wide multiuse path
• A boardwalk on the western side of McAlpine Creek now ties into the existing Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway

Once the connection on the eastern side is complete, Northwood will install a “switchback” path behind Rushmore 5 to connect to the already completed section behind the Crawford Building.
