About Ballantyne’s Backyard

Ballantyne’s Backyard features over 100 acres of lush green space with miles of running and walking trails, rolling hills and fishing ponds the whole family can enjoy. The community park, located on the former golf course in Ballantyne, offers unparalleled open space and is accessible to everyone. Well-behaved, leashed pets are welcome.

Ballantyne’s Backyard Events

The Charlotte community is invited to enjoy weekly Fitness at 11 classes and monthly Markets at 11 events in Ballantyne’s Backyard throughout the year.

  • Fitness at 11, a series in collaboration with SweatNET, hosts Yoga & Mimosas classes on Saturday mornings throughout the summer. Power Afterhours classes will return in the fall. Sign up for a membership or pay per class.
  • Markets at 11 features over 40 local businesses, live music, food trucks, local beer and picnicking from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Enjoy a daycation in the heart of Ballantyne’s Backyard on the second Saturday of every month. Stay tuned for vendor lists and an event schedule for the rest of the season.

 

Directions to Ballantyne’s Backyard

The park is nestled between existing office buildings on the east side of Ballantyne and accessible from the main entrance off of North Community House Road. Parking is available at 11611 North Community House Road and neighboring parking decks. Be Responsible
Do your part to keep our park clean! Pick up after yourself and your pooch. Weapons, glass and both unauthorized vehicles and drones are not permitted at any time.

Be Respectful
Follow the golden rule and treat others how you want to be treated. Ballantyne’s Backyard is family-friendly, please dress and act accordingly.

Be Safe
Look out for others. While Ballantyne’s Backyard is located on a former golf course, it has been converted to a privately-owned community park, and golf is no longer permitted. Contact Ballantyne security at 704.649.8200 to report any nuisances or vandalism. View more guidelines.

Bylaws are subject to change per Northwood Office. Ballantyne security and CMPD have the right to remove any violators.

Ballantyne’s Backyard is open every day from dawn to dusk.
