Take an Inside Look at Get Fit Foods in Ballantyne
Posted On: March 7, 2018
Get Fit Foods in Ballantyne Village is not your typical fast food restaurant. As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll find a wall of refrigerators stocked with fresh, healthy meals and snacks ranging from zucchini pasta and salmon to breakfast tacos and protein brownies. To learn more about this unique restaurant, we spoke with owner David Yermanos who gave us an inside look along with some healthy-living tips.
What’s unique about Get Fit Foods?
We specialize in ready-to-go, healthy meals for athletes, diets and those who have busy schedules. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner choices that are low sodium, gluten-free, allergy-friendly and nutritionally-balanced.
What’s your most popular item on the menu?
The Zucchini Pasta with Turkey Bolognese
What’s something your customers may not know about you?
We use all high-quality proteins with no preservatives, hormones or antibiotics.
What’s the key to maintaining a healthy diet?
Maintaining a healthy diet comes easy with consistency. To be consistent is to be prepared. In this case, being prepared when hunger strikes. It’s easy to grab a quick snack when you’re hungry but making it a priority to have healthy options will make it easier for you to stay on track. That’s what Get Fit Foods does for our community. Get Fit Foods keeps me on track and makes it easy to stay consistent especially because there are more than 30 different meals from which to choose.
Any healthy eating advice/encouragement?
Not every day do we wake up ready to take on the day. Some days we lose motivation. Tips to get back into the groove is to set goals that you know you can achieve, have a plan, and make it fun. Being conscious of what you’re eating will do wonders for your mind and body. But being active is just as important. Having a routine and switching up activities that you enjoy will keep you motivated and give you the will to keep striving to reach your goals!
Ready to try Get Fit Foods? Stop by the restaurant in Ballantyne Village to pick up a meal or grab lunch for the whole week with a meal plan. Don’t forget to show your BCP Card to receive 15% off meals between 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

E2D Celebrates the Grand Opening of its South Charlotte Computer Lab
Posted On: March 1, 2018
E2D (Eliminate the Digital Divide) celebrated the grand opening of its Re-Image CLT South Computer Lab at South Mecklenburg High School made possible by Northwood Office on behalf of the tenants in Ballantyne on February 28. Once an unused kitchen space, the new computer lab offers the opportunity for students to earn a job refurbishing corporate laptops to provide to student families in need.
E2D has a goal of distributing 5,000 computers in 2018, and Ballantyne is excited to support this goal through the opening of the south Charlotte lab. Not only does this program help families in need, but it also prepares students for tech jobs after high school.
Out of 200 applicants, less than 15 students were selected to be part of the program at South Mecklenburg High School. E2D founder Pat Millen explained that these impressive students were chosen for their desire to give back to fellow students. Millen believes that these students are the beginning of change in our city. “As these kids get opportunities, Charlotte rises,” said Millen.
South Mecklenburg High School Principal Dr. Maureen Furr also noted the students’ focus on giving back. “They’re in this both to learn and to serve,” said Furr. “They’re serving our community, and they’re making it possible for other people who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to have their futures wide open, too.”
Northwood Office’s CIO and Vice President of Operations Ted Mueller and Google Fiber’s Jess George also shared their excitement to partner with E2D and to continue supporting the nonprofit.
Stay tuned for more ways to help E2D at Ballantyne’s Earth Day event on Friday, April 20.
Take a look at the lab and meet some of the students in the program by viewing coverage of the new lab on WCCB Charlotte‘s Wilson’s World. View more pictures on Facebook.
