Ballantyne Community Garden in Memory of Matt Oliver

As part of Ballantyne’s ongoing efforts to create engaging open spaces and experiences, Ballantyne's community garden officially opened its gates on Earth Day, April 22 — a fitting debut for a space rooted in sustainability and community connection.

Honoring a Legacy
The garden has been named in honor of Matt Oliver, a senior property manager at Northwood Office who recently passed away from cancer. Matt was a grower and lover of the land whose passion for nurturing will be celebrated in this space.

Location & Details
Located next to Brixham Park's on-site apiary, the garden is a community space designed to bring people together, foster environmental stewardship, and support local pollinator health.

The space houses 30 raised garden beds. While all beds are currently in use for the 2026 growing season, we encourage you to visit our park page to learn more and discover upcoming engagement opportunities.
