Northwood Signs Three New Leases for The Bowl at Ballantyne™

As Ballantyne Reimagined continues to take shape, Northwood Investors LLC and its affiliates are excited to sign three new tenants for The Bowl at Ballantyne™, set to open in 2024 – Honeysuckle Gelato, Rooster’s and Drybar. These businesses join Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, announced as the anchor tenant for The Bowl in March 2022, as the first tenants confirmed for the new mixed-use retail, dining and entertainment district in South Charlotte.

“We’re big supporters of these concepts, and it’s a major endorsement to have Charlotte restaurateur Jim Noble and Honeysuckle Gelato join the tenant lineup at The Bowl,” shared Ward Kampf, President of Northwood Retail. “As landlords, we believe adding local and regional operators into our merchandise mix is key. We always say locals should account for 10-20% of the center but create 80% of a project’s character. Of course, strong national brands are equally important, and no one is better in the salon and service space than Drybar. It’s a great addition for the demographic in Ballantyne.”
Honeysuckle Gelato
Opening Spring 2024

What started as a gelato food truck run by two friends in 2011 has since expanded to six – soon to be seven – locations across the Southeast. Honeysuckle Gelato serves up scoops, pints, gelato sandwiches and milkshakes in flavors inspired by the decadent desserts of the South, such as Butter Pecan Blondie, Lemon Raspberry Crumble and Salted Caramel Brownie. The company has also proudly partnered with Feeding America Network food banks to donate 5% of companywide profits each year.

The dessert shop will be located at 15119 Bowl Street, Suite 102, Charlotte, NC 28277.

Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen
Opening Spring 2024

The locally owned and operated Rooster’s Wood-Fired Kitchen is a long-time Charlotte favorite, with locations across North Carolina. Its seasonally inspired menu is a tribute to all the craftsmen, artisans and small local farmers with whom it has built strong relationships over the years. Serving lunch and dinner, Rooster’s is known for its wood-fired meat and vegetable dishes while working with its growers to cultivate specialty crops and heirloom varieties exclusively for its restaurants. Rooster’s is part of Noble Food & Pursuits and owned by esteemed Charlotte restaurateur Jim Noble, who is also known for concepts like Noble Smoke barbecue, Copain and the Kings Kitchen.

The eatery will be located at 15110 Bowl Street, Suite 101, Charlotte, NC 28277.

Drybar
Opening Winter 2024

The first confirmed beauty service for The Bowl, Drybar, was named one of the top 100 Brilliant Ideas of 2010 by Entrepreneur Magazine. Drybar is based on the simple concept of focusing on one thing and being the best at it: blowouts. The salon prides itself on providing the best professional quality beauty products, tools, and services to create and maintain the perfect blowout for all individual hair types.

Drybar will be located at 14020 Stream Way Charlotte, NC 28277.
