Summit Coffee, First Watch and Walnut Grill Bring New Flavors to South Charlotte

As the South Charlotte community continues to grow and evolve, Northwood is excited to welcome three new eateries to the west side of its Ballantyne® campus – Summit Coffee, First Watch and Walnut Grill.

“We’ve really focused on enhancing the offerings and programming on the west side of our campus over the last few years, including the recent redevelopment of Brixham Park, and these tenants are a great addition to the mix,” said Hailey Rorie, director of community relations for Northwood Office. “Bringing in a local establishment like Summit Coffee perfectly aligns with what we’re trying to achieve with the new development in Ballantyne.”
Summit Coffee
Coming this July

Locally owned and operated Summit Coffee will open its Ballantyne location this summer across from the Ballantyne Hotel between Chase Bank and Bank of America. The 800-square-foot space will be beautifully crafted with an earthy yet chic aesthetic and a spacious garden patio. With a mission to build communities with remarkable and approachable coffee, the company prides itself on being organic, climate neutral and donating 1% of its annual gross revenue toward community engagement efforts. Summit Coffee boasts nine blends ranging from light to dark while also offering beer, wine and pastries.

“Summit is a company that cares about the people we hire, the quality of coffee we roast and the communities we’re a part of,” said Summit Coffee Franchise Owner Anthony Rossi. “We chose Ballantyne because we are residents of Ballantyne, and we love our home. We plan to become an integral part of the community.”

First Watch
Coming this fall

Those looking for a delicious and nutritious brunch or lunch will love First Watch, opening this fall in a shared building with Summit Coffee across from The Ballantyne Hotel. When it comes to ingredients, the restaurant’s mission is to follow the sun, which is why on its menu, you’ll find vibrant, green California-grown asparagus in April, refreshing Florida watermelon in July or tender, sweet yellow corn from the Midwest in August. First Watch is also known for its in-house juice bar and Project Sunrise coffee.

Walnut Grill

It boasts a homemade menu, creatively crafted cocktails and an outdoor patio where you can get fresh air while enjoying brunch and lunch until 3 p.m. each day.
