Harriet’s Hamburgers
Opening Spring 2024
Locally owned and operated, Harriet’s Hamburgers has been serving gourmet smash burgers since the concept opened its flagship location at Optimist Hall in 2020.
“Harriet’s is inspired by a sense of happiness that can only come from the simple things,” said founder and local restaurateur Joe Haubenhofer. “It’s reminiscent of the days when food was less fussy and hamburger joints were community gathering spots. Our focus is on the smiles, the community and serving up a clean, chef-driven modern-day fast-food menu.”
The hand-formed patties are made with Creekstone Farms’ all natural, hormone-free, antibiotic-free Black Angus beef; high-quality ingredients in which diners can feel confident. The Ballantyne location will be a family-friendly destination that brings a smile to the young and young at heart.
Fly Kid Fly
Opening Spring 2024
Fly Kid Fly is a new coffee concept from HEX Coffee Roasters and Durban Hospitality. As a North Carolina-based company, Fly Kid Fly’s name is a nod to the Wright Brothers – and a reminder to keep your head in the clouds.
“We chose the tagline “Coffee + Atmosphere” because it’s a simple equation for an incredible coffee experience,” said Madison Currie, who is over special projects at the Durban Group. “If we have guests come into our shop for even a few minutes and nail those two things, it will send them on their way in an upward trajectory. And that’s the goal - Fly Kid Fly.”
Typical favorites like draft vanilla lattes, cappuccinos and filter coffee will be found on the menu as well as extremely creative and colorful signature beverages that will challenge expectations for coffee service. There will even be menu items created specifically for kids that will inspire their imaginations and be so good that parents may be caught finishing them from time to time.
“We are so excited to bring this concept to The Bowl at Ballantyne,” said Chandler Wrenn, an owner of Hex Coffee and Fly Kid Fly. “As a Charlotte native, I have watched Ballantyne go from farmland to a thriving and exciting suburb. As Charlotte continues to welcome new people and perspectives into our great city, we wanted to make a place where the citizens of Ballantyne could feel a sense of connection. The Bowl will be an incredible asset to the future of Ballantyne and the greater Charlotte area. It's a future that we want to help build. We're looking forward to becoming a part of the Ballantyne family.”
