Wegmans Opens First Charlotte Store in Ballantyne

A highly anticipated addition to the Charlotte region has officially arrived in Ballantyne! Wegmans Food Markets opened its first Charlotte-area location on October 14, welcoming thousands of shoppers to its new store at 11550 North Community House Road.

The excitement surrounding opening day was undeniable, with more than 25,000 customers visiting the store on October 14, making it Wegmans’ largest weekday store opening to date. The location also created approximately 450 full- and part-time jobs, bringing new employment opportunities to the community.

Spanning 110,000 square feet, the new supermarket brings Wegmans’ signature shopping experience to South Charlotte, featuring an expansive selection of fresh produce, seafood, meats, bakery items, specialty cheeses and more. Shoppers can also enjoy an extensive prepared foods offering, including fresh sushi, pizza, chef-prepared meals, salads and sandwiches, along with a market café.

Wegmans’ arrival marks another exciting milestone in Ballantyne’s continued evolution as a premier mixed-use destination. Located just steps from The Bowl at Ballantyne, the store adds another popular national retailer to the growing collection of shopping, dining and lifestyle experiences that make Ballantyne a great place to work, live and visit.
